Practice Makes… Improvement -Les Brown
Doing it again, and again, and again
The new practice is to keep my mind on the blessing Elohim/God has given me — the vision to see — while remembering that distractions are there and can postpone my victory.
I am aware of my past patterns:
I’ve gotten excited & prematurely shared
I’ve gotten excited & dropped the ball on doing my part because I expected that it was mine just because I’d been allowed to see the preview
In my quiet time, I thank Elohim/God for the seeds. Then I ask my provider Elohim for help planting and nurturing those same seeds. I ask to be shown how to prioritize what needs to be done and to be reminded that I am disciplined, capable, able, and above all willing. Remind me, in the middle, why the journey in between matters just as much as the start and the finish.
We can pray, study, and prep all day, every day. The best part is being granted the opportunity to put our practice into play and apply the knowledge Elohim/God bestows upon us. This is wisdom. I am grateful to stretch my discipline muscle.
Discipline (n.) ˈdisəplən | dis-uh-plin
training to act in accordance with rules (+ with the word of Elohim/God); an activity, exercise, or regimen that develops or improves a skill;
the practice of training oneself to do something in a controlled and habitual way;
orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior;
self-control;
training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
Discipline is necessary for ALL things: how you manage emotions, relationships, jobs, money, eating habits, exercise, hair, skin, etc., to name a few. It is the ability to do these things consistently and regularly despite circumstances.
Me to me: Even when “I don‘t have a job,” there is still work to be done.
If you notice that one (or more) of these areas is out of whack, then ask yourself:
>>> Where am I practicing discipline in my life? What am I focusing on? <<<
Discipline is not punishment but correction consistently. Proverbs 15:32 says, “If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.”
Added piece/peace *how you practice is how you play* (word to the GOAT, Kobe)
Life is simply continually practicing our better becoming.
Reminder: Being locked in is not the same as being trapped. Focus.
How are we showing up to practice today?
